Sulawesi Gourmet Coffee

I have been a coffee drinker for over 50 years. When I met my wife, she said she hated coffee and wished it tasted like it smelled. She is from Washington state and when I went there, I knew immediately why she hated coffee and wished it tasted like it smelled. I found the coffee in Washington to not be good, unless you added tons of cream and sugary additives to kill the burnt flavor.

I made it my goal to see if I could find coffees which my wife would drink and to my surprise, I found many. They all come from the equatorial regions in the world and are medium light to medium roasted. She has become a coffee snob and can tell any time that I switch coffees, even though they all come from the same equatorial region. Sulawesi is one of her favorites with the full body and light acidity, it produces a great balance of spice flavors and no bitterness.

I will definitely continue to buy this one.

Listed as a medium light roast but arrived as a darker roast and oily, and quite frankly, a little stale. And has zero similarity to Yemeni coffee, if you know what Yemeni coffee tastes like.

Smooth with a great finish. I pour over so it took a few tries to bring out its full potential but well worth it. A good hint of its spice in the front but great mouth appeal in the end. Don’t be put off by the roast, it’s should be more toward medium. My go to is Ethiopia Yirgacheffie but next

order will be a 5 lb bag of Sulawesi. Enjoy and hope this helps.

This was the first time trying the Sulawesi Coffee and I was not disappointed. Smooth and rich. I will definitely be coming back to this one again.
