Grown in the region of Harrar, Ethiopia Longberry coffee is one of the oldest cultivars of the Arabica coffee bean varietals. Discovered by accident, this legendary coffee has a unique history as well as a remarkable flavor. After the gourmet coffee is hand-harvested, it is dry processed and sun-dried, resulting in a bold and winy cup with a heavy body and complex flavor. We roast each small batch medium-light to yield a mild cup with chocolaty undertones. Celebrate the history and rich culture of Ethiopian coffee with each freshly brewed cup!
Brand: CoffeeAM

Taste

Light Dark

As one of the oldest cultivars of Arabica coffees, Longberry beans from the region of Harrar are grown at extremely high elevations. We roast Ethiopia Longberry to a light-medium stage which elicits bold, complex flavors and a floral aroma. With a sharp, winy acidity this coffee proves to be stimulating to the senses, and because of its sweet, fruity notes the finish is absolutely remarkable.

An excellent coffee!

If I make a pour-over coffee, my first choice is Blue Mountain.

However... I mostly drink Turkish coffee made in a traditional cezve as taught to me by a wonderful Lebanese friend of mine. For the Turkish coffee, this Ethiopian Longberry is just fantastic. It is my favorite so far. I order whole beans and grind them in a Comandante C40 grinder to an extremely fine consistency (2 clicks, for those who know). I have other Ethiopian coffees, but this is my favorite. The Tanzanian Peaberry also makes a great Turkish coffee as well, but this review is for the Ethiopian Longberry. Again, it is my current favorite for Turkish coffee and CoffeeAM ALWAYS arrives lightning fast and fresh!!!

Fantastic flavor. Slighty fruity with underlying chocolate flavor. No hint of bitterness. Definitely my favorite bean slightly ahead of the

The Yirgacheffe bean.

My favorite grind!

This is my favorite (though I drink the bulk as decaf!) as it is full and flavorful without being a dark roast, which I feel can often taste burnt or bitter.

Fruits of the gods.

This exquisite, delightful cup of coffee has an alluring taste, side by side with a superb aroma. These luscious, vibrant, notes, exalts your palate. It is a light to medium roast, which exonerates from any bitterness. The Ethiopian longberry has an acute, bright body, with a delectable relish of a wine finish. I implore you to try this succulent, decadent tasting coffee yourself, you will never be disappointed!

A very special Ethiopian!

Initially, this coffee reminded me of Kona with deep dark chocolate flavor.

Then the bright, citrus, almost grapefruit like overtones came in. An excellent cup, for sure!

I bought a half pound just to check it out, but now it has become a favorite!!!

I'll definitely be ordering more!
