Celebrate National Coffee Milkshake Day
All across the world, people have conjured up special days to celebrate different items of food and drink. There is everything from International Bacon Day to National Meatball Day.
You may think that most of these days are rather far-fetched or unnecessary, but coming up this Sunday, July 26th, there is one day that we would be happy to celebrate, and encourage you to do so as well–National Coffee Milkshake Day.
Swap out your standard cup of joe for an iced coffee with a twist. Even the kids can enjoy a coffee milkshake, as it is less acidic than regular coffee, and has less caffeine.
Ready to try it for yourself? Here is the basic recipe for a coffee milkshake, that you can adjust according to your taste.
- Blend a cup of cold-brewed coffee, 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream, and at least 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup together in a blender until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add some milk to loosen it up. On the other hand, if it is too thin, add a little more ice cream. Then, pulse to smooth out.
- Pour the milkshake into a glass or two.
- Top generously with whipped cream, and drizzle with additional chocolate syrup. You can try using different kinds of syrups, like hazelnut, or cinnamon.
- Serve and enjoy!
