How to brew coffee using the classic Stovetop Espresso Maker

Just the way you remember it, perfect coffee from a retro classic pot. The Stovetop Espresso Maker is sure to bring you a stimulating sensory adventure. Listening for the percolating coffee as the aroma fills the room, there is no better way to have it!
  1. Start with a fresh clean Pot full of hot water.
  2. Grind your fresh gourmet coffee beans a little more course than for an espresso machine. Be careful that they are not so fine they go through the upper holes or clog them up.
  3. Fill the bottom section of the pot with hot water up to the safety level valve.
  4. Put in the filter basket and then fill it with your freshly ground coffee.
  5. Level it off with a knife...be sure not to pack the coffee in.
  6. After making sure that the filter and gaskets are in place, screw the top and the bottom sections of the pot together and tighten to make a strong seal.
  7. Place on stove and heat on medium-high heat.
  8. When you hear the gurgling sound after about 4-5 minutes your coffee will be ready to pour.
  9. Remove from heat and Enjoy!
The Moka pot will produce excellent coffee with just a few rules to obide by. Your Moka pot is NOT dishwasher safe. It should be cleaned by hand with mild detergent and water and dried after each use. Each part should be disassembled and cleaned. Every so often you can run vinegar through the pot to remove minerals left behind from hard water as this could affect the taste.

The Stovetop Espresso Maker makes a set amount of coffee. You can not make more or less by adding or subtracting the amount of grinds or water you put in. If you find sediment in your cup, make sure that you user a courser grind the next time.
