Light Roast Coffee
Light roast coffees have been roasted to just before first crack, at around 355℉ to 400℉. This roast level allows the natural flavors of the coffee to come through. The aromas start to smell less like cut grass and more like what we expect roasted coffee to smell like. Their color will be less green or tan and start looking more like a cinnamon stick. Light roast coffees are typically described as being delicate and fruity. They are completely dry with no oils being secreted at this stage. Other names for this roast are Cinnamon Roast, Half City New England Roast, and Light City.
