Organic Dominican Republic 'Santo Domingo' Fair-Trade Coffee

Often referred to as "The Treasure of the Caribbean," this organic coffee from Santo Domingo is definitely one of the best kept secrets of the region.

Many people here in Santo Domingo make a living from the production of coffee. This is why strict measures are taken to ensure quality and standards are upheld. Most coffee is grown on small farms and is tended to by devoted farmers and their families who greatly benefit from its production.

The climate is ideal for coffee trees; the nearby ocean brings about cool trade winds and cloud cover that protects the trees from excessive sunlight, yet fostering a humid environment so the trees and the coffee cherries mature slowly. The unique tastes exhibited by the coffee come from the rich soil of the mountainous regions in which the trees are planted. Medium-bodied and well balanced, this gourmet coffee contains a unique complexity in each sip.
This varietal of Bourbon Arabica produces a soft and mild flavor profile. Being organic and free of chemicals during cultivation, Dominican Republic Fair-Trade is a distinguished coffee of the Sur Enriquillo region that brews smooth with a heavy body and full flavor that is similar to all island coffees.

Santo Domingo

I am not an avid coffee drinker but I know good coffee when I taste it!
I purchased this as a gift to my abuela because she said the best coffee she has ever had was from her home country, La Dominica Republica. She enjoys American coffee but she absolutely loves the coffee of her homeland.

The aroma is so sweet and invigorating that you cannot wait to open it. It has the right amount of flavor and sweetness to it without any cream or sugar, if you like your coffee black. If not, it is even more delicious in my opinion, when it has a small amount of sugar and a bit of cream.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Nice mild coffee

We bought six different kinds of the organic coffee to try. We ordered light to medium roasts because that's the way we like our coffee. They have all been good. If you like your coffee smooth with no bitter after taste, this coffee is worth trying.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

A Balanced Brew

Better than the "Molido" that is generally available in the Dom. Rep. . Smooth and piping hot from our "Bunn"
Pros:
Balanced Flavor
Cons:
Nothing

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Good, but not great

Good coffee, but lacked the intensity of Santo Domingo coffees I've had in the past.
