This Sumatran coffee is excellent; medium roasted to perfection gives a full bodied yet smooth earthy taste. Exactly what I wanted delivered to my doorstep much more quickly than I expected.I would recommend this item to a friend.

This is one of the best coffees I've ever had. The aroma and flavor are divine. This coffee will be on my re-order list for sure.I would recommend this item to a friend.
rich and flavorful

By Keith from Western MA. on February 2, 2012
I have discovered that a medium roast coffee is my preference. This coffee is free of any acidic overtones, and is rich without being overly robust. The flavor is also very much to my liking, and this is my favorite of the various Sumatran varieties I've tried so far.I would recommend this item to a friend.

Great bean, but roasted too dark.

By Les from Sebastopol, CA on April 8, 2013
This has been our favorite coffee for years, and we bought it from CoffeeAM for much of that time. However, even though the little "dot" on the Gayo Mountain Sumatra label indicates this bean is supposed to be a medium light roast, and CoffeeAM used to roast it lighter (i.e., just before the oils surface), now they roast it dark enough so that the oils emerge, and that obscures some of the flavors of the bean. I wrote CoffeeAM about it but after things didn't change I switched to a roaster in NJ who roasts Gayo Mountain Sumatra medium light. I'd much prefer to be a CoffeeAM customer, but heck, my wife and I only drink espresso once a day and we want it to be a medium light roast as advertised!Epitome of a satiated palate.

Too Dark of a Roast

By Paul from Southern California on August 24, 2012
This was supposed to have been a medium-dark roast, but was more dark roast than anything from the color of the beans through the brew of a cup. Not entirely what I expected. As a dark roast it's a fair cup.
Nicely earthy!

By cari pocse from Cleveland, Ohio on July 19, 2012
I love the flavor of this coffee. It's rich yet not dark; surprisingly for the taste. It's a deep earthy undertone but does not have any acidity. Not a problem even after 4 cups of the joe! Great coffee. I'll be buying more.I would recommend this item to a friend.
fairly good

Fine Sumatra

By Seth from Indiana on March 10, 2012
My wife is locked on Sumatra and Javas. We even blend it. (I prefer pure Kona.) This is as good as I've had. I would recommend this item to a friend.
Not as good as some Sumatra coffee ordered in the past.

By Karen Sedlacek from Surprise, AZ on February 26, 2012
lacks flavorgood flavor but not quite there.

By Seth from Highland, UT on February 19, 2012
It has a nice coffee flavor, but just nothing too unique about it. I would suggest the papa new guinea over this for the more lingering after flavor.I would recommend this item to a friend.
Good coffee!
