On the tiny island of Timor, over seven thousand small farmers work to provide Organic Timor Fair-Trade Coffee. The island is split in two, with Indonesia claiming the west side and East Timor, a small independent nation, inhabiting the rest. Gourmet coffee from Timor is unique because virtually all of the farmers grow organic coffee. However, since the coffee is grown on small farms, the farmers have banded together into 16 cooperatives and 494 small-scale farmer groups to improve their production capacity. This way, they can work together to operate the mills necessary to wet-process the small, greenish-yellow coffee beans.
Harvested during the North American summer and exported during autumn, Timor coffee is freshly imported. It's shade-grown coffee from the Cooperativa Café Timor, established in 2000. The cup is spicy and herbal, with good acidity and an excellent body. We know you'll love Organic Timor Fair-Trade Coffee!

Timor Organic, an excellent cup I totally enjoyed

I found this most enjoyable. I grind my own just before making a new pot, so I have fresh ground coffee to begin. Wonderful and enjoyed each and every cup. The service, ease of using the web site and quick efficient shipping keeps me coming back time and time again. You can't go wrong with this fine company.

Each drink starts with a good acidic jump and finishes really smooth. A cup of coffee that will have you emptying the pot.

Got this as a free sample when I was on the hunt for some pumpkin spice whole bean coffee. The pumpkin spice and all the other flavored coffees I bought were just about the worst coffees I have ever drank, but this was pretty good, especially with some flavored creamer. If I ever buy from this site again, it will definitely be for unflavored coffee.

Disappointing

This coffee is a big disappointment. It is practically flavorless. Black, it tastes like weak herbal tea. Add cream and sugar and that's all you taste. In an attempt to find a use for these beans, we tried making mocha by adding shaved bittersweet chocolate. Ended up with lousy hot chocolate. As someone who loves the coffees' of the Americas, Indonesia and Asia, I can say I have never brewed a pot of coffee that was such a waste of time. Now, I just have to figure out what to do with the rest of this pound of beans.

I tried this coffee as a free sample, and enjoyed it a lot. I must buy a full pound and see if it is as good as I thought.
