Rich in history and tradition, New Orleans is a unique symbol of Southern culture that is known for elaborate Mardi Gras celebrations. Influenced by the French during earlier years and through the Civil War, the residents adapted the use of chicory in their coffee as a way to stretch their coffee rations. Surprisingly, the ground chicory root added body and subtle chocolate flavor.
We combine Colombian coffee with dark French Roast and add a pinch of chicory to create our New Orleans Chicory coffee blend. Medium dark roasted, this heavily-bodied brew is true to the New Orleans tradition!

For a long time, I've wondered what chicory coffee tasted like. So I had to order a bag and find out. The chicory flavor is rather subtle, and gives it a bit of a chocolaty taste to the coffee--if you focus on it. Honestly, if I wasn't aware that I was drinking chicory laced coffee, I would not even have noticed. The coffee is a dark roast and blends well with the chicory. The bottom line is that this is an enjoyable coffee that I would drink again.I would recommend this item to a friend.

This is by far the best of the chicory blends -- and believe me, I've tried them all! The flavor is delicious, a bright bold cup complimented by the mellowing influence of the chicory, jut the thing to get you going in the morning or to compliment a nice creme brulee after dinner. This is my favorite coffee ever.I would recommend this item to a friend.

This is different from any of the other coffees I have tried. I am an avid coffee drinker. I like this coffee, but it is something I would only drink occasionally. It has a slight bitterness and is a bold coffee.
