Lapsang Souchong 2 lb Bag

Lapsang Souchong Tea comes from the Fujian province of China. After the rolling process, the teas are placed into wooden barrels until they begin to emit their own pleasant aroma. As a final step they are placed in bamboo baskets and hung over smoky pine fires where they dry and absorb the smoky essence. This meticulous process makes this tea flavor significantly distinctive from all other teas.

This unique tea encompasses an exotic, smoky flavor; it has often been referred to as a smoked tea. Lapsang-Souchong has grown in popularity with those who appreciate single malt Scotch whiskey and fine cigars. The preparation of the leaves involves withering over cypress or pine wood fires. Once steeped, this gourmet tea produces a bright, burgundy-orange cup of tea with an assertive and bold flavor.

Great tea for the price.

It has really good flavor., it's maybe on a light side for Lapsang Souchong but it was an easy fix for me. I just double the tea amount and it's good to go.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Finding a Long~lost Friend
By Jao from San Diego, CA on May 3, 2012
Lapsang Souchong... I remember the day I became a life-long tea lover... First visit to upper Manhattan ~ sweet loving black maid (just painting a picture here~ I've never had a maid of any color!) prepared the best tea I ever had... But I was a kid and never bothered to get the name of it. All I know is she opened my world to a sensuous smoke laden reverie that I've never ever forgotten, and never had since ~ till now ~ FORTY years later!!! Thank you... I'm a customer for life!

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Really exotic
By Paul from Sunnyvale, CA on March 31, 2011
A lovely lady introduced me to Lapsang Souchong about 1975. I was raised with the aroma of creosote and Packer's tar soap as a kid. So Lapsang was another addon to my list of exotics. Today Lapsang and a moment to enjoy takes me back to very pleasent memories. What a hoot. Leaves my mouth clean, me refreshed, and with no after taste. I make it in an 18 ounce thermal container.
Pros:
Everything. Buying it at 2 pounds a pop is surely a sign of love. I do love Lapsang and CoffeeAM
Cons:
Nothing. Except maybe .... Not everyone is a friend of creosote or Packer's tar soap. I can't get most of my friends past the aroma. Too bad.
