Organic Guatemala 'Santiago Atitlan' Fair-Trade Coffee

Surrounded by mountains and three volcanoes, this coffee plantation is located next to the picturesque Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. Grown in high altitudes and nourished to perfection without the use of any man-made chemicals, this organic coffee is medium bodied with a complex flavor and an enchanting aroma.

Grown under the shade of trees, protected by migratory birds, and nurtured by an environment that encourages slow growth, the coffee beans are bursting with bold and rich flavors by the time they are harvested. After meticulous hand-selection, the beans are wet processed and sun dried; everything comes together perfectly to produce a gourmet coffee that brews into a remarkable cup time after time.

Smooth and robust, this delightful gourmet coffee is perfect no matter what time of the day it is. Experience the goodness of Organic Guatemalan coffee.
This Fair Trade coffee is cultivated near Lake Atitlan in the region of Sierra Madre. This variety of Bourbon is wet-processed, encompassing a heavy brightness with sweetened undertones in its flavor profile. This medium roasted Guatemalan coffee produces a delightful aroma and a heavy body with high acidity.

Wondrous flavor
March 12, 2015
I've been a fan of Guatamalan Antiguan cofee since trying the S******S brand. After trying several of coffe AM's central american coffees I found this to be the best. Some of the Guatamalan coffes have a very sweet flavor, almost like juicy fruit flavor, not this one. This coffee has a lot of subtle flavors, chocolate, raspberries, sherry, and fruity like mangos. With big, shiny beans and a fresh lush aroma. This is the best central american coffee I've tasted by far.

I did not notice any distinct undertones of flavors but this coffee just has an excellent "coffee taste' that is well balanced and smooth. I have since reordered.

Perfect coffee
November 14, 2014
This is the only coffee we order. We first tasted Guatemalan coffee while visiting the country to adopt our first of three babies. Our oldest is 10 now and we're still enjoying the flavor. We are happy to support a coffee that's organic, shade-grown and fair-trade.

This bean makes delectable espresso (and also quite good coffee)
April 8, 2015
I picked up a sample of this the other week at the recommendation of the amazing Coffeeam staff. I had made it in both my chemex and also drip maker (when too lazy and tired to manual pour over) and was happy with the flavor. I generally tend toward Indonesian coffees, so it wasn't quite as bold as those but it was very very tasty. Just this morning I made espresso from the Guatemalan.....and boy was I surprised. The Indonesian beans can sometimes be too sharp, bordering on bitter when I make espresso with them (I drink my espresso black without cream or milk).....but this bean is *fabulous* as espresso. Not a hint of unpleasant sharpness, there is an enchanting sweetness to it...I am having difficulty properly describing how exquisite this espresso is (I am taking sips of it as I type this...equally amazed at each subsequent taste). The best thing I could say is just try it, if you love espresso then this is something that you must experience.

Delicious
January 16, 2015
This is a truly amazing coffee with aromas of raspberries and chocolate, The flavor is well balanced including a hint of raspberry without the sweetness in the coffee, and the spirit of chocolate fuses so well with other coffee elements and comes through at the finish.

Great Coffee but problems with order
January 10, 2014
This is great coffee, but I have ordered it twice and had a problem both times. The first time the seal on the back was broken and the coffee was dumped into the box. Coffee AM replaced the bag for me. The second time I ordered drip grind and was sent beans. Customer Service's response was go buy a grinder. Thanks for making my coffee cost a little more.

Disappointing

The flavor is kind of thin. I love Guatemala Antigua but this is not the same coffee. I love the fact it's an organic Fair Trade coffee but it just doesn't satisfy.

Everyone Raves about this coffee
December 30, 2013
I have been drinking Guatemalan coffee for years. Many roasters over roast it giving it a burned taste. Coffee AM does it perfectly and ships it so fast it makes your head spin. I would aldo mention Guatamalen coffee is hard to find so I am very happy to have found Coffee AM which has it and roast it perfectly.

Non-coffee Drinker Really Likes This One; Coffee Drinker Does, Too
September 25, 2013
I actually bought this at my wife's request. Medium roast. She says she likes it just fine. I'm not a coffee drinker but I like this coffee for it's smooth aroma and lack of bitterness. If you like strong coffee this may not be the one for you. I don't like coffee that has an overpowering aroma and/or strong flavor as they tend to be too bitter. Bottom line - nice, smooth aroma, very flavorful, yet mild.

September 24, 2013
This coffee is dark but not too dark, a product of great beans and excellent roasting... It has a lot of things happening. But the best part is that it is wonderful coffee. I grind it a little fine for a drip maker, but it rewards me with more flavors.

Great Coffee
March 28, 2013
First of all I want to thank CoffeeAM for their excellent service and awesome coffee. My husband and I drink coffee pretty much all day long and we are huge fans of Guatemalan coffees. I used to buy all my coffee from Starbuck's, but due to some beliefs of the company I no longer wish to support them in any way. I have been purchasing coffee from CoffeeAm for 3 years now and I will never buy from anyone else again! The organic Guatemala was a very nice coffee, full of body and chocolate undertones, I enjoyed it very much, and eventhough I am a Guatemalan Antigua drinker I would recommend this coffee to everyone!

Absolutely perfect coffee
January 6, 2013
I was initially nervous about ordering this coffee since it was listed as dark roast, and most dark roast I've had tastes burnt to me. However, I was compelled to buy THIS coffee since I used to live next to this very coffee orchard. I am so happy I did. I feel I have finally found the perfect coffee bean. It is smooth, strong, not at all bitter, rich -- just the best. I strongly recommend it!

Mild and Floral....
November 19, 2012
No bitterness at all, its a mild and soft taste with a hint of floral. Most coffees I would never consider drinking black, but this one you can! In fact its the only coffee that I've ever tasted Black and liked all by itself. Putting creamer and a little sugar in this coffee overwhelms the coffee and you no longer taste it it is that soft. I like it. If you want robust, this isn't it. I usually like strong coffee, but I really like this one!

A very smooth cup of coffee. This Fair-Trade coffee has a moderately complex flavor with a very pleasant "earthy" finish. The acidity and bitterness are quite low, even when the cup has cooled. I will be buying this again.

Tried and true
July 5, 2012
My husband and I have been drinking this Guatemalan brew for many years. In the past, we tried beans from a variety of growers in other countries, and always came back to the organic Santiago Atitlan. Now, we just stay with it, for we have found no other coffee as mellow, smooth and deeply rich.

My new favorite
January 3, 2012
Having drunk the Sumatra Mandheling from CoffeeAM for the past eight years, I finally decided to try a lighter roast after reading that French roasts can hide some of the more delicate coffee aromas. I did a head-to-head trial of this coffee and the Peruvian and Bolivian organic beans. This was my clear winner. The flavor is bold but not acidic, and there are wonderful aromas of chocolate and even dark fruits.

Very Good Coffee - and Fair Trade Too
June 5, 2011
I was looking for fair trade coffee, but I only drank instant, and I couldn't find instant fair trade coffee that I liked. You had such a good selection at such good prices, that I decided to try non-instant. I chose this one and one from Ethiopia. Both were very good. This one isn't bitter at all, and it has a nice rich taste. I usually mix the too together now. I'm very happy with the product and how fast it arrived, and I plan to continue buying it.
