According to legend, this flavored tea received its name from Charles Earl Grey, a man who served as Prime Minister during the 1830s under King William IV. It is said that it was given to Earl Grey as a gift from a Chinese Mandarin man in response to Grey's men saving the man's drowning son.
Flavored with the oil of bergamot, a pear-shaped citrus that is grown near the Mediterranean, Earl Grey tea is a blended black tea that has an exotic complexity and aroma that is both distinctive and delightful.

I am an avid fan of Earl Grey and have been buying it for years. After having searched for the best, I have found it. This blend is soft, smooth, and gently flavored for a beautiful cup of tea. The bergamot flavor is not overpowering, but fresh and natural.

Excellent flavor, high quality, needs no straining. This tea is so fragrant and is so much better than "bagged tea".
I love Choice bagged teas but this takes the cake!! Economical too!

Both my wife and I favor Earl Grey teas. This blend is comparable to Twinnings or Bigelow. We will be ordering more.

This is my second order of this Earl Grey. Good flavor with the right amount of bergamot. I drink about two quarts of tea many different kinds. This is one of my favorite black teas. I will order again.

I have bought this tea for many years from CoffeeAM. I buy it in 2 lb bags and make it by the pot, in a drip coffee maker.
I recommend that you keep it in the freezer in a tightly sealed bag, for maximum freshness. This is a good idea for any tea, but especially for Earl Grey since it has oil of bergamot and of course, oils of any type are subject to becoming rancid if stored at room temperature.

Good bergamot flavor without being overpowering. I prefer this loose-leaf tea to the commercially available versions for its balance of flavor and deep, rich color. This is a rolled-leaf tea that blooms nicely in 190-degree water. You won't find much tea dust in the package so you don't have to strain it out of the cup either.
