Brazil Santos Coffee

Brazil's hot, humid climate lends itself to be the perfect place to grow coffee. That being said, Brazil is one of the highest coffee producing countries in the world. Despite the large amount of coffee that is produced in Brazil, more than 70% of the coffee farms in Brazil are less than 10 acres. Smaller farms have unique processing practices, and each farm adds its own special touch to the coffee beans; however, all farms conform to the same coffee standards to ensure high quality product.

The coffee beans are hand harvested and dry processed; the dry process method involves drying the cherries, and removing the beans once the cherries are dried. This process adds a slight fruity flavor to the coffee, resulting in a heavy, sweet, and complex brew. Treat yourself to the wonderful flavors of Brazil Santos gourmet coffee.
Brazil Santos is a medium-light roast that yields a lowly acidic and light-bodied brew. Fruity flavors are carried over into the beans through a natural process, which allows the coffee beans to dry while still inside the fruit. Permeating the air with a pleasant aroma, this Brazilian coffee is one of South America’s premium coffees.

Brazil Santos......WOW!
By Thomas R.Chapman from bellville Ohio on February 4, 2012
This coffee is a sleeper, you would never guess it has a perfect blend of aroma and taste, your mood and desires will change as you grind the whole bean, not to mention as you smell the brewing, may I suggest a burr grinder and not a blade the blade over heats the bean causing a slight "strong" coffee smell. Thank you Tom C.

Wonderful!
By Julie from Knoxville, TN on January 1, 2012
I bought this coffee because my husband needs a low acid coffee because of acid reflux. Not only is this coffee low acid but it tastes fantastic! 100 times better than another low acid brand we tried. I don't need low acid coffee but this is the only kind I drink now because it tastes so delicious! THANK YOU!!

Major disappointment
By Coyolicaltzin from Branson, MO on December 31, 2011
My husband is from Brazil, and I am from Mexico. WE have lived the last 16 years in USA, always trying new coffees hoping to find one that he loves as much as the ones he drank in Brazil. After reading the eloquently written description of this Santos coffee, we had high hopes of reliving flavors from Brazil. The coffee tasted green, and was not at all what we expect out of a gourmet coffee. We'll stick to organic coffee from the local health food store, and to ordering authentic coffee from Brazil when friends come visit the USA. The only good thing about this coffee is that it as least is one step up from Starbucks. This coffee just goes to show that anyone can ruin a great bean if they don't know beans about roasting.

Wonderfully flavorful
By J Jones from Baltimore MD on December 12, 2011
I wouldn't call myself a coffee connoisseur by any means. Quite frankly a lot of it tastes like the same bitter swill to me, despite the fact that I consume copious amounts of the stuff. But this coffee is amazing. A bit bold but with a unique, complex and distinct flavor. Fantastic stuff.

Brazil Santos reminded me of a lighter version of Colombian coffee, yet with an extra kick in every sip. Highly recommended.

Made me like light roast coffee ...
By Collybie from Norton, Vermont on November 29, 2011
Wow, what a surprise! I never liked light roasts, I always thought they all had this "cardboard" taste... That is why I always stuck to the darkest roasts possible... until I had a sip of this!

First, the aroma is really amazing. You could think it is flavored coffee because of the sweet, chocolaty, vanilla scent. Although it is light roast, it is truly satisfying, with a velvety but intense flavor.

I am glad to have discovered this coffee trough the Coffee of the month club, it makes me want to venture into different roasts.

For your info, I use an automatic expresso machine, on the strong setting, and I drink mostly cappuccinos. I am sure this coffee would be just as amazing brewed in other ways.

last word: none of the light roast coffees I tried with coffeeam tasted like cardboard, so I guess quality and freshness does make a HUGE difference!

We used to roast coffee beans back in the 70 and 80's . . . I love this one for mixing and/or for just one cup of melitta grind drip coffee!
Pros:

perfect for a single cup of coffee or for dinner party where one does not know everyones tastes
Cons:
little bit too dark of roast for the bean variety, for my taste

My favorite coffee for over a decade
By Dave from Panama City, FL on November 16, 2009
I lived in Rio as a child and watched the coffee tasting in Santos. More recently, 50 years later, I lived in Italy. I've tried many Arabica beans (Kona, Ethiopa, Galapagos, Jamaican Blue Mountain), but I keep coming back to Brazil Santos. BTW, I begin every day with a dark French roast, but the rest of the day I prefer Brazil Santos.
