Disappointed
July 19, 2014
This press makes a good cup of coffee, but the plastic frame cracked the first time i used it. Now it is lopsided and the liquid seeps out. I will continue to use it but will look for something more substantial in the meantime. It doesn't really make 3 4-ounce cups ..... Overflows and makes a mess.

The Perfect Coffee Pot
September 20, 2013
This French Press makes the best single cup of coffee every time... I also own a grinding coffee maker as well, but when in a hurry-- The French Press is my "Express Coffee Pot"

Perfect Size for 2-3 People

There is a major misunderstanding when it comes to enjoying espresso as well as French Press Pots. Coffee itself when made in an espresso machine, a Moka-Pot, or a French Press is not meant to be poured into a 20oz mug. If you want 20oz mugs of coffee, stick with Folgers or Maxwell House (I'm not sure if they are even still on the market b/c I don't drink either of these brands or any others including those in the open-air pull slots because they are super-stale before you even make the purchase). The French Press design is for French-style coffee brewing, which can be rather strong to the unaccustomed espresso or French Press appropriate coffee beans rank high on the list among Cuban cigars, properly pulled espresso/espresso-based coffee. It is an enjoyable experience that pleads for sitting down to enjoy the nuances versus being in a rush to go from here to yonder. As I mentioned in other reviews, this is not your "No-Talent, Burnt Beans, Dredged Swill served at $tarbuck$!" The two are worlds apart, galaxies apart... This French Press is easy to use, easy to clean, and it is quite durable. The only additions required for the 3-cup French Press here is a set of cups and preferably a way to heat them so the freshly pressed burr-ground beans will retain heat longer allowing for a longer enjoyment time and can be matched with most any dessert imaginable after a nice meal, preferably one at a 5-Star restaurant leaving someone else to do the dishes and the clean up while you are able to savor the meal as well as dessert and French Press coffee blends in either caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee as well as having the ability to try flavored coffees such as Baked Alaska, Caramel Cheesecake, or even Snickerdoodle (CookieDoodle) without causing any damage to the unit. By the way, the parts can be ordered at Bodum's website if you ever find yourself in need of a new filtering screen or special brushes to clean them with at some point. Special FYI: Do not allow coffee brewed in a French Press larger than the 3-cup sit in the press pot as it will continue to steep making any remaining coffee bitter to the taste. It is best to buy a heated carafe from Bodum to keep the coffee hot if it is not possible to serve the entire pot of coffee for everyone, which is the case in the larger French Press Pots with a small gathering of people who actually know how to grind, press, and serve as well as drink French Press coffee. This has been a highlight and the perfect compromise for my marriage as my husband of 26yrs does not like espresso/espresso-based coffee including Americanas so, I bought the 3-cup French Press from Coffee AM in order to allow us to share coffee, which is especially nice when we are awake before the kids, well the only one left at home now although she is soon to be a sophomore in high school and our oldest moved closer to her college campus a number of years ago and after her 3rd college graduation, she and her fiance' got married and had the reception at the country club where they and her new in-laws are members and she has become quite the avid golfer! Now, she is a wife, mother of 2 stepsons from her husband's previous marriage in which they share joint custody and living arrangements, runs her own business (2 actually) and this past fall returned to my alma mater for her 4th degree. Our youngest will be heading off to college before we know it but it is still nice to get up early and enjoy a cup of coffee from the French Press, again since he refuses to drink espresso or espresso-based coffee. It gives us time to catch up along with getting to know each other all over again after many years of marriage with our girls as our top priority. Our home will seem empty when our youngest leaves for college. I have no clue how we will make it without having pattering feet, teenage angst, loud music (if you can call what they listen to music these days), and the sleepovers with about a dozen young girls in sleeping bags with a plethora of movies and plenty of popcorn or puff-corn w/o the kernels as our girls went through braces as did many of their friends and our youngest is still in braces, which might come off later this year or next year depending upon the rotation of the teeth and her cross-bite from a birth defect of the jaw-bone from my side of the family where many if not most of us are born with small jaw bones that cannot accommodate all the permanent teeth that come in; however, we are all fortunate in one aspect - we only have 1-2 wisdom teeth and many of those are surgically removed while under anesthesia when the wisdom teeth are still buds before so they never crown through the gum-line requiring even more orthodontic work. There are no doubts we will miss having the last child leave home for college and for a life apart from Mom & Dad; however, it will be nice to get the chance to fall in love with my husband all over again over French Press coffee and interesting conversation.

Not really a three cup press.
December 7, 2011
I received this item with the expectation that it was actually a 3 cup pot. It is not, it is a 12 oz pot, not a 24 oz pot as described. (their cups are 4 oz each, not 8 oz like the rest of the world. The press brews a strong wonderful cup of coffee though.
